XYLEM PLUS

Xylem Plus is a Systemic Fungicide with up to 60-Day residual in the stalk and the leaves that provides control against common diseases.

  • For decades, White Mold has wreaked havoc on soybeans in the north Central region of the United States, going from a sporadic disease to an annual threat. The incidence and severity of White Mold varies from year to year, but cool and moist conditions at the time of flowering create a prime environment for White Mold development.

White Mold can substantially reduce yield and affect seed quality, especially when weather and management practices favor high yield potential. The general rule of thumb is every 10% increase in White Mold incidence can reduce yields 2-5 bushels per acre.

  • Corn Stalk Diseases such as Fusarium and Anthracnose are seen in varying degrees every year throughout the Midwest. Stalk Rots are caused by bacteria and fungi, and by plant stress due to flooding, drought or poor soil health.

  • Pythium is a common cause of seed rot and seedling blight in corn and soybeans due to hot and humid conditions between 85 and 95ºF. Rain and cloudy weather also promote the spreading of this disease.

Symptoms include stunted growth, wilting, and yellowing of the upper leaves. Discolored roots that slip off when pulled are indicative of Pythium infection. The disease can also cause root and stalk rot, leading to significant plant stand and yield losses.

HOW IT WORKS

FOLIAR APPLICATION

Xylem Plus is absorbed through the leaves and transported around the plant down to the root tissues. Once in the root tissues, Xylem Plus will help the plant continuously produce healthy roots and stalks to increase plant performance, while protecting against common diseases. Adding the generic substitute for Quilt Xcel® gives leaf protection and completes all three modes of action, making it unlike any other fungicide.

IN-FURROW APPLICATION

Protect your plants at the point of germination with an in-furrow application of Xylem Plus. Xylem Plus is safe for the seeding environment and provides long-lasting protection from soil, root, fungal and bacterial diseases.

BETTER YIELDS. Superior Standability.

BETTER YIELDS. Superior Standability.

How to apply - Corn:

  • 24 oz/acre in-furrow OR

  • 24 oz/acre with post-emergence chemical

    AND

  • 24 oz/acre at tassel with 10.5 oz generic substitute for Quilt Xcel®

How to apply - Soybeans:

  1. Xylem Plus has proven to be effective in controlling White Mold. For optimal white mold control, you must follow these application guidelines:

    • Apply 24 oz/acre in-furrow, followed by 24oz/acre before or at first flower.

    OR

    2. Spray 24 oz/acre at V3-V6 (before flower) with your first post-emergence spray follow by 24 oz/acre 2 weeks later.

This timing is CRUCIAL for white mold control. The first application must be before first flower. Sudden death can only be controlled in-furrow followed by before or at first flower.

    3. For leaf diseases apply 10.5 oz/acre of the generic substitute for Quilt Xcel® at R2/R3 stage
